This podcast shares the habits and practices of peak performers and top leaders, from many walks of life; physicians, senior executives, entrepreneurs, and academics. And from every season, from the seasoned and sage to those emerging leaders and rising rock stars. All who are blazing trails and shining a light for others.
Dr. Shikha Jain wears many hats, including but not limited to, oncologist, physician director of media at Rush University Cancer Center, wife, mom, mentor, writer… She didn’t aspire to be a leader, but as someone seeking and striving for change, she’s fallen into the leadership role and has embraced it.
She’s quick to recognize that her success is partially due to her supportive work environment, her family, and her “wolfpack,” that is, her support network. A believer in continuous learning and growth, Dr. Jain has various mentors who push her forward in different areas of her life. And when it comes to mentors, she doesn’t discriminate on age or position. Her network is comprised of mentors who are her elders/superiors, her peers, and even her juniors. She believes it’s imperative that leaders stay humble, continue to grow, and seek out others who can teach and sharpen them, no matter their position in life.
Dr. Jain leads by inspiration and collaboration, and she maintains that by working together and supporting one another, we can get farther than we ever could by competing.
